GOtv Adds Three New Free-To-Air Channels

Govt has successfully added three more channels to their station, In line with its leading role in the drive towards digital migration, GOtv has successfully launched more Free-to-Air (FTA) channels on its platform.
The newly launched channels are River State Television (RStv) on channel 103, Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS) on channel 104 and Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS) on channel 105 respectively.
The channels are available only in their respective states and are available to GOtv Plus, Value and Lite subscribers.
RStv, a state-owned television station in Port Harcourt, airs local entertainment, children, and sports programs as well as local and international news. EBS, an equally state-owned television service, broadcasts mainly news current affairs, entertainment and lifestyle programs, while BCOS, owned by the Oyo State government, is the broadcast of news, entertainment, educational and public enlightenment programs.

Speaking on the launch of the channels, Managing Director, MultiChoice Nigeria, John Ugbe, said: “We are very excited about our new channel offerings and the role of GOtv in promoting local content and cultural values. It is a true testament of our vision to transform the pay- television landscape in the country and make digital television services a must – have for all Nigerians. GOtv forms part of our broad-based strategy to contribute to Nigeria’s digital migration via sensible infrastructure investment and competitive service delivery”
Following the statement disclosed by Ugbe: it was stated that “With the debut of RStv, EBS, and BCOS on GOtv, our viewers in Rivers, Edo and Oyo States now have access to high-quality audio-visual channels to enjoy local news, entertainment and sports programs. We are enabling, with great ease, the switch from analog to digital TV to viewers across Nigeria”.
